My time at the school was mainly positive and I respected the administrators who I directly reported to even when I didn't agree with all decisions. There are/were issues with student behaviour through all levels. Like most schools, there was a percentage of the parent community that was also very challenging and not always respectful. Overall, I personally had no major problems, but know of colleagues who did. This school has a percentage of very wealthy and entitled local families who I, and others, felt held too much say in decisions.

I loved working with Lorne Bird, Brian Roach and David Ottaviano and I miss AISB very much. I would definitely sign with them again if I had to go back and do it again.

There are significant differences in how staff are responded to as well as to the tone of the school in the various schools; ECE, ES, MS, and HS.These differences between the schools are also reflected in requests for PD and communication between administration and faculty. PD is offered with in house consultants which does not meet the needs of all the teachers. Opportunities for workshops and conferences can be limited. Meetings consume most prep times. The school's package is generally good and competitive within the region. Overall, Bucharest is a good city to live in which offers a diverse selection of activities and Romania has a vaste countryside with beautiful areas to explore. It is generally a safe city, however driving is aggressive and can be congested.
